**Description**
**SAIC** is looking for a **Painting Manufacturing Associate** to support the US Navy in **Indianapolis, IN.**
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Candidates will perform the following: sanding, blending, cleaning, masking, and other tasking related to the preparation of industrial parts for paint finishes.
+ Set up, maintain, and operate typical shop equipment such as paint mixers, HVLP paint guns, and paint booths.
+ Apply primers, sealers, basecoats, color coats with correct formulations as per paint manufacturer specifications.
+ Apply polyurethane, lacquers, epoxy paints, or dry lube coatings.
+ Prepare surfaces for painting and protects surfaces from corrosion.
+ Candidate will be expected to follow job routers, travelers, and common shop processes to perform work tasking but also be able to adapt and overcome when appropriate.
+ Read and follow router instructions, engineering diagrams, and/or prints.
+ Perform repetitive tasks in accordance with standard process and procedures.
+ Typical work week is: Monday-Friday, 40 hour week, 8 hours per day, 7am to 3:30pm; candidates may be asked to work a split shift (noon to 8:30pm) or second shift (3pm to 11:30pm).
+ This employment includes a 120-day probationary period.
**Qualifications**
**REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:**
+ High school diploma and 6 years of experience;4-6 years of painting experience or related/similar technician experience.
+ Previous Experience performing sanding, blending, cleaning, masking, and other tasking related to the preparation of industrial parts for paint finishes.
+ Experience applying primers, sealers, basecoats, color coats with correct formulations as per paint manufacturer specifications.
+ Basic computer skills (Email, Timecard entry, Job tracking data entry, etc.).
**REQUIRED CLEARANCE:**
+ Candidates MUST be able to obtain Secret clearance. US Citizenship is required for clearance. SAIC will assist with clearance process.
**DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:**
+ Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience preferred.
+ Experience with mil spec and military coatings.
+ Experience with measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
