Compass Minerals operates 12 production and packaging facilities with more than 1,800 employees throughout the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Visit compassminerals.com for more information about the company and its products. **We are currently hiring a Palletizer Operator to join the team at our Unity facility in Unity SK.** Located in the western part of Saskatchewan, Compass Minerals’ Unity Mechanical Evaporation Plant is one of the company’s four mechanical evaporation plants. The plant produces and packages a wide variety of salt products including water conditioning salt, bulk salt, food-grade salt and salt for agriculture. The Unity Evaporation Plant is located in a friendly community of 2,500 that loves hockey and curling, situated in the beautiful big-sky prairies, an hour from North Battleford and a 2-hour drive from Saskatoon. We’re proud to be one of Unity’s steadfast employers. **How will you contribute to the team?** To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following + Responsible for all duties pertaining to the change over from one product to another. + Responsible for the filling out of all job sheets on each shift. + Responsible for the sanitation and cleanup of the bagging area. + Ensure QC Pad tests are completed and satisfactory before bagging food grade salt. + Visually inspect and ensure all products are properly capped, wrapped and put in its proper location, and ready to be shipped. + Ensure magnet and screen checks are complete. + Ensure metal detector checks are completed. + Responsible for the safe storage of all opened packaging material. + Other duties as assigned. **What should you bring to the role?** + Minimum of a Grade 12 Diploma + Previous work experience in a process-related industry, knowledgeable about process equipment and control systems, and flexible to different task assignments. + Previous experience operating a Forklift is considered an asset. + Ability to multi-task, have a high sense of urgency with regards to operational requirements and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Mechanical background with the ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, repair and resolve issues related to the position is considered an asset. + Experience with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel + Experience with inventory management and/or billing software an asset. + Have a valid class 5 driver’s license. **What will you like about us?** + **C** **ompensation and Benefits** : We offer a competitive compensation package along with medical, dental, vision, disability, employee assistance program, tuition reimbursement, and much more. + **Rest and Relaxation:** Vacation, sick and personal floating days as per the collective agreement + **Prepare for your Future:** Defined Contribution Pension Plan with company match and contribution. + **Shared Core Values** : Our employees share five Core Values in all we do: Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, Value Creation and High Performance. + **Safety** : We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive work environment as we strive toward Zero Harm for our employees, customers and communities. + **Meaningful Work** : What sets us apart is the work we do impacts daily lives – and every employee contributes.
