Looking for an opportunity to use your technical and people leading skills? Our Evansville, IN team has a opening for a Panel Shop Coordinator! This position will coordinate the department's manufacturing and repair projects as well as lead the Panel Shop team.
Here's What You'll Do:
Schedule and prioritize work within the department to ensure a well-orchestrated workflow for quality workmanship and in order to meet customer needs and deadlines. Maintain a corporate-wide focus on deadlines by attending daily coordinator meetings. Communicate with foreman on a regular basis to ensure a well-focused and ran shop. Ensure materials are ordered as needed according to departmental guidelines. Perform on-site evaluations and testing when needed according to customer needs. Maintain current knowledge on materials, technology, and processes. Assist with improving and developing new processes for increased efficiency and effectiveness. Assist with scheduling and constructing monthly overtime list for Shop employees. Generate reports on production jobs as needed. Work closely and cooperatively with foreman to achieve established goals and promote a team driven environment. Be present and available on the shop floor for troubleshooting and strategizing. Partner with other managers, coordinators, supervisors, foreman, employees, and office personnel to coordinate smooth workflow. Monitor quality, analyze the data, and suggest ways quality can be improved. Ensure tools and equipment are available and in good working condition in order to work efficiently and effectively. Coordinate the purchase of tools, materials, and equipment to ensure an efficient and effective department. Ensure that all completed work meets Flanders’ Standards and complies with Flanders’ ISO Quality System. Identify and assist with training needs. Direct or provide on-the-job training and mentoring as needed. Assist technicians with jobs as needed. Maintain employee records including attendance records, copies of evaluations, and matrix as needed. Complete and deliver employee performance reviews for department personnel. Conduct performance corrective counseling in consultation with the Manager and/or Human Resources as needed. Actively participate in the recruitment and hiring of employees. Foster good employee/management relations.Here's What You'll Need:
Associates degree or Trade School degree are preferred for this roleAt least two (2) years of leadership experience and seven (7) years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience will be consideredStrong written and verbal communication and comprehension skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsStrong problem-solving skillsStrong knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office softwareAbility to foster good employee/management relations and build a strong team effort to fulfill customers’ expectationsAbility to train and mentor employeesAbility to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety proceduresAbility to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making related to non-routine dutiesOvernight travel may be required.
