As a Parade Maintenance Manager, no day will be the same – from keeping “Paint the Night” illuminated, to supporting animated character vehicles like “Lighting McQueen” – anything is possible in this role! At Disney, you’ll help maintain the magic by enabling our teams to push the limits of entertainment and create innovative built environments.
You will lead a team of hourly maintenance Cast Members who perform corrective and preventative maintenance on our world-renowned parades and shows at the Disneyland Resort. You will also perform administrative work such as scheduling, payroll, coordinating inspections etc. while partnering with other leaders on the team to achieve a common goal.
You will report to an Area Manager of Parade Maintenance.
Responsibilities
Management and Leadership
Project a positive image and energy to drive motivation in the workforce, while ensuring a culture of fairness and accountability.Implement safety strategies that continue to improve the safety of Guest and Cast, promoting a safety culture of proactively addressing concerns and thoroughly investigating every injury or near miss.Build a culture within your team that applies urgency to problem solving and implementation.Mentor, train, and coach Cast Members on how to perform their job safely and effectively.Understand the CMC, IATSE, and other related contracts to administer the guidelines consistently.Strive for continuous improvement, driving strategic measures to improve guest service, Cast support and operational/equipment efficiency.Technical Capability
Effectively lead projects including, budgeting, resource management, scheduling, and communication.Review blueprints and schematic drawings of entertainment assets. Responsible for the technical capabilities in applicable areas such as parades, mechanical, electrical, controls, etc. and improve technical proficiencies in areas that are not a strength.Responsible for the technical proficiency with our safety programs, standards, and department business practices and policies.Ensure quality of completed preventive maintenance and reconcile to job plans.Demonstrate and apply strong computer skills and embrace new/emerging technology.Relationships
Cultivate relationships within FOS and Entertainment, as well as other partners and clients to maintain business objectives.Develop and maintain relationships with reporting Cast and handle conflict resolution.Honor your commitments to strengthen collaborations with Cast Members.Maintain a positive relationship with union representatives.Basic Qualifications
2 years of experience in a maintenance-related field including direct experience in an industrial, plant, manufacturing, theme park, or transportation maintenance.Proven experience and strong understanding of process control & mechanical/electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and subassemblies.Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders from all levels of the organization.Ability to access equipment pits, work platforms, cat walks, roofs, and similar areas via ladder.Ability to manage confidential information and difficult conversations.Understanding of how to consolidate multiple sources of information/analyses into a cohesive story and recommendation.Experience leading in an unionized environment.Proficiency with MAXIMO.Guest Service experience onstage or backstage.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated problem solving skills.Computer proficiency within a Windows environment.Demonstrated experience leading a team.This position requires the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, work from ladders, elevated platforms, and confined spaces.Willingness to work evenings, holidays, weekends, varying shifts including 3rd shift and working extended hours to complete time-sensitive tasks when needed.Demonstrate passion and commitment to diversity and inclusion, including inviting diverse perspectives and promoting an inclusive work environment.The hiring range for this position in California is $107,500.00-$126,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job Posting Segment:
