Our client, a successful law firm in Calgary, Alberta is looking for a Corporate Paralegal to join their collaborative, high performing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a variety of tasks to support partners at the firm. The ideal candidate will be self-starting, motivated, and passionate about the legal profession.
What the Paralegal does: Prepares correspondence and legal documents Supports files for multiple lawyers simultaneously from beginning to end Handles file management and bring-forward system Manages calendars, emails, and appointments Assists with ad-hoc administration and projects, providing support where needed Administers board and committee meetings and ensures meeting materials are distributed Communicates with directors and senior management on corporate governance matters Creates and maintains a set agenda item schedule and publishes agendas and other documentation for board and committee meetings What the successful candidate will bring: Min of 5 years experience in the legal profession Paralegal degree or diploma Working knowledge of principles, methods, and materials in corporate matters Strong understanding of applicable laws, rules, and regulations Excellent interpersonal and time management skills Detail-oriented with a critical thinking mindset Strategic with strong problem-solving abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Due diligence searches and reporting Disclosure statements, amendments, and information packages Closing agendas and documentation for real estate acquisitions and sales Preparing various documents, contracts, forms as required E-filing and database searches In return, what you can expect: Competitive salary based on experience Benefits package Career growth opportunities
