Paralegal
Overview

The Paralegal will assist and support the legal counsel and other staff members in the Legal Department

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

Prepare initial drafts of legal pleadings at the direction of the attorneys

Prepare initial drafts of contracts at the direction of attorneys

File documents, pleadings, and electronic data into databases

Copy documents and prepare binders for attorneys

Utilize software to obtain signatures on electronic documents

Assist attorneys in the coordination with discovery in litigation

Draft and prepare initial drafts of litigation hold notices

Research legal matters

Assist attorneys in the preparation of lawsuits

Gather and obtain evidence, as necessary, in support of lawsuits, trademark filings, and regulatory matters

Return phone calls and emails on behalf of the attorneys

Assist attorneys with collecting background information on property damage, potential new vendors, and for other miscellaneous purposes

File legal pleadings and other documents with the courts or other governmental agencies

Setup and preparation of meetings

Assist in the court with documents and other evidence

Maintain confidentiality

It is an essential function of this job for the employee to work in office/in the employee’s assigned work site. No remote work is available

Perform other duties as required and/or assigned

Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

The position requirements include, but are not limited to:

A college degree is preferred

Minimum of 5 years of relevant paralegal experience is preferred

Must have previous experience working in a corporate department or law firm

Proficient skill level with Microsoft applications is required

Paralegal Certificate preferred
