What You Can Expect

Responsible for providing paralegal support and assistance to in-house IP Legal team and coordination with outside legal counsel.  Duties include management of patent and trademark databases, preparation of legal documents, document collection and review, coordinating all aspects of project intake and tracking and assuming responsibility for the maintenance of the project files under supervision of counsel.
 

How You'll Create Impact Manage patent and trademark databases.Maintain company trademark list and patent marking websiteWork with colleagues and outside 3rd parties to determine need for, review, negotiate, draft, edit, and signoff on confidentiality agreements and material loan and transfer agreements with little oversight from attorneysCreate and update invention disclosures and other matters in Foundation IP database and Legal TrackerUploading documents and agreements in DocuSign for executionCreating legal vendors with AccountingWork cross functionally and as backup for other Company paralegals Assist IP attorneys and other Legal team members in execution of day-to-day IP and Legal mattersAssist in drafting correspondence, various agreements, and other related documents as directed with attorney oversightReview and analyze documents submitted to the Legal department. Organize and maintain files for all projects.Coordinate with external legal counsel on specific assignments, review preliminary advice and provide internal recommendations under the supervision of assigned counselAct as liaison with various internal departments and personnelPrepare various documents and reports, as needed

What Makes You Stand Out Proficient user of Docusign, Foundation IP (or similar IP docket software), Legal Tracker (or similar e-billing software) and other IP and general legal software and databasesTime management skills to handle multiple tasks accurately.Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Strong analytical skills, with ability to review legal documents and organize numerous legal documentsMust be detail-oriented; able to manage numerous projects simultaneously to meet deadlines in an atmosphere of frequent interruptionsMust demonstrate follow-through on assignments, and ability to ensure accuracy and completeness without prompting from supervisorsAbility to work independently on most assigned tasksKnowledgeable of standard office technology and Microsoft Office SuiteYour Background Degree in Paralegal Studies or Paralegal Certificate, requiredA minimum of 2-4 years of IP paralegal or similar experience, remote work requires minimum of 5-7 years of IP paralegal experienceA combination of education and experience will be considered  Travel Expectations Up to 10%
