Description We are inviting applications for a Paralegal position in the hotel industry, based in Chicago, Illinois. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will assist with complex legal procedures, collaborate with various teams, and oversee subsidiary matters both in the US and globally. This is a long-term contract opportunity that does not offer potential for permanent employment. Responsibilities: • Take the lead in preparing resolutions, contributions, assignments, distributions, intercompany loans, dissolution, and merger documents with utmost accuracy. • Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, and Finance teams to support their global initiatives from a legal perspective and manage the process. • Engage and coordinate with international outside counsel related to credit facilities, finance matters, and tax restructurings. • Oversee the process of assisting leadership with special initiatives as requested. • Act as the lead on sanctions reporting on a quarterly basis. • Support and guide a team of corporate paralegals, fostering a collaborative working environment. • Play a pivotal role in assisting with complex acquisition and disposition transactions, tax restructures, compliance filings, and credit facilities. • Manage subsidiary matters both within the US and globally, ensuring all legal procedures are followed. Requirements • Possess a bachelor's degree in Law or related field • Prior experience in the hotel industry is preferred • Strong understanding and experience in Corporate Governance • Excellent communication and negotiation skills • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion • Proficient in legal research and documentation • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines • Strong understanding of legal procedures and terminology • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research software • Ability to work well in a team environment and build effective working relationships.
