Job DescriptionA full time position for an experienced paralegal, with an emphasis on commercial real estate transactions and procurement contracts, to perform duties to support attorneys and Real Estate and Global Sourcing practice group initiatives.
Responsibilities
Support in-house counsel in drafting, reviewing and redlining legal documents related to the Company’s real estate assets and procurement contracts, including but not limited to, leases, vendor contracts, amendments, estoppels and non-disturbance agreementsPrepare formal notices in accordance with lease or contract terms, including exercise of lease options or default noticesAssist in drafting, preparing and issuing lease and contract transaction summaries for internal approvalResearch inquiries from internal stakeholders regarding lease and contract issues and obligations; recommend proper course of action in consultation with in-house counsel to bring to resolutionExercise discretion to evaluate and escalate matters to attorneys as appropriateManage and document workflow processes for lease and contract review process, approvals and signaturesAct as the department’s primary point of contact for CoStar Real Estate Manager system and lease documentation matters. Collaborate with accounting team and Geo leaders to support the lease administration workflow.Manage other delegated projects that support the practice group’s initiatives, including coordinating resources and collaborating with internal and external parties as requiredManage organization of all electronic and hard filing systems for practice group’s documentationDevelop, implement, and oversee sophisticated document production projects for real estate or procurement litigation as needed • Maintain the practice group’s insite and collaboration site pagesExercise independent judgment and discretion in order to meet deadlines and accomplish tasksProvide effective written and oral communications to internal and external stakeholders Complete other work and projects as assignedExhibit and promote the Company’s 10 cultural attributes: Appearance, Attitude, Confidence, Curiosity, Excellence, Integrity, Pride, Resolute, Sense of Humor, and VisionaryQualificationsEducation and Experience
Bachelor's degree, associate’s degree, paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program, or significant prior practical experience3+ years of experience as a practicing paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department Minimum 3 years of experience performing the functions of a real estate paralegal or substantially similar experience, preferably in a corporate real estate environmentExperience in contract management/negotiation, document/knowledge management systems, and project management preferredKnowledge of legal principles and terminology, and legal research techniquesStrong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detailRelevant computer knowledge and experience, with the ability to adapt to and embrace legal process optimization tools and technologies Fluent oral and written English required and fluency in additional languages an assetAdditional InformationA successful candidate must pass Expeditors’ pre-employment background check.
Expected base salary: $68,000 - $78,000
