As a pivotal member of the Legal Department, you’ll work closely with our General Counsel and contribute to the success of multiple business units across our organization.
 

What You’ll Do:

The Paralegal reports directly to General Counsel and is responsible for providing support to multiple business units across the organization. This team member offers legal assistance by providing clerical and research support services including, but not limited to, document preparation and review, research.

Essential Job Functions:

Analyze, draft, and revise a high volume of documents including, but not limited to contract amendments, term extensions, overage letters, licenses, vendor contracts, leases, partnership agreements, event services, equipment contracts, IT purchase contracts, and other agreements in accordance with organization policies and legal requirements.

Provide first review of third-party contract redlines and escalate to appropriate in-house counsel as needed.

Provide legal assistance to corporate officers, board members, and other organizational constituents on corporate governance, corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, and litigation/dispute resolution.

Multi-task within and across projects and prioritize and manage timelines effectively.

Display professional attitude both when communicating via telephone and in person.

Data entry and obtain signatures from the appropriate authorized signatories.

Track all contract requests within the organization’s contract management software, including, but not limited to, requests from business partners, progress on finalization, and receipt of fully executed agreements, with limited day-to-day supervision.

Demonstrate interest in long-term and short-term goals and objectives of the company.

Other duties as assigned by the Senior Leadership Team.

Assist in-house counsel with the management of ongoing litigation, including, but not limited to, communicate with external counsel and insurance adjusters, coordinate and manage legal logistics, gather documentation for discovery, and other administrative duties as needed.

Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.

Properly code legal invoices and submit to Accounts Payable

Maintain the Legal Department e-mail and distribute tasks to Department staff as appropriate.

Process Legal Department mail.

Organize and maintain the Legal Department shared drive

Routine duties are performed with minimal supervision.

Litigation and discovery process.

General business practices.

Legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

4 years of experience preferred.

Paralegal Certificate preferred.

Relevant in-house or law firm experience.

Supervisory Requirements: 

None.

Employment Requirements:

Notary Certification or ability to acquire.

Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect.

Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.

All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.

Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.
