The Paralegal will assist the General Counsel/VP Legal and Senior Manager of Claims/Risk/Insurance to support needs in all the following areas: product liability claims and claims resolution/management, corporate insurance, risk management, contract review and management, and provide clerical and administrative services/support.
This position is a hybrid role with combination of remote and onsite work in Apple Valley, and reports to the Vice President Legal/General Counsel.
What will you do?
Claims Support
• Assists in the investigation of facts relative to pending claims and cases.
• Assists in providing information and documentation required of our insurers relating to product liability claims.
• Assists in drafting Excel documents and power point presentations to our insurers regarding pending insurance claims.
Insurance Coverage Support
• Supports Senior Manager of Claims, Risk, and Insurance with insurance renewal applications, including working with other GF divisions to obtain necessary information.
• Assists in obtaining and recording Certificates of Insurance.
Legal & Litigation Support
• Drafts certain legal documents such as basic contracts and non-disclosure agreements.
• Organizes and manages docket of pending litigation, including creating spreadsheets for production and presentation externally to insurers and internally to company officers and directors regarding same.
• Coordinates the collection, review, and production of documents and information to assist in response to discovery requests.
• Assists with arbitration and trial preparation, including the assembly of exhibits, witness binders, and appendices for depositions and court filings.
• Works with multiple functions (e.g., supply chain, sales, operations) to organize and archive contracts and non-disclosure agreements in online database.
• Meets with outside attorneys in the United States and Canada to discuss assigned cases or projects.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

What will you need?
• Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required, bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or related field preferred.
• Paralegal certificate required.
• A minimum of 2+ years related experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of legal language and principles, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
