Job Description A paralegal is a legal professional who assists lawyers with various tasks, allowing lawyers to work more efficiently. Here's a summary of their key responsibilities:

Core Duties:

Legal Research: Investigating and analyzing laws, regulations, and legal articles relevant to a case.
Document Preparation: Drafting/encoding legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
Case Management: Organizing and maintaining case files, tracking deadlines, and managing information.
Client Communication: Interacting with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide updates on their cases.
Trial Preparation: Assisting lawyers in preparing for trials by organizing exhibits, preparing witnesses, and coordinating logistics.
Additional Responsibilities:

Fact Gathering: Investigating and collecting information relevant to a case, such as interviewing witnesses and reviewing documents.
Administrative Tasks: Handling administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and filing documents.
Technology Utilization: Using legal software and technology to manage cases, conduct research, and prepare documents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Document Preparation: Assist in drafting and revising contracts, agreements, and legal documents throughout the contract lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.

Contract Administration: Maintain and manage contract files, tracking key dates for renewals, deadlines, and compliance obligations, ensuring all documentation is up to date.

Stakeholder Communication: Prepare communication materials and summaries to facilitate discussions with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity in legal insights and recommendations.

General Legal Support: Assist in the preparation of legal documents for various general matters, including memos, briefs, and other necessary paperwork, to support ongoing legal activities.

Policy Document Drafting: Collaborate in the drafting and formatting of industry policy papers and exposure documents, ensuring they meet organizational and compliance standards.

Meeting Coordination: Schedule and organize meetings with stakeholders, maintaining agendas and taking minutes to document discussions and action items.

Case Management: Track and manage case files, organizing evidence and documentation to support ongoing litigation or legal matters.

Compliance Monitoring: Assist in monitoring compliance with laws and regulations, preparing reports for legal counsel to review.

Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including managing schedules, filing documents, and maintaining legal databases and resources.

Research Accuracy Rate: Percentage of legal research tasks completed without errors, indicating the reliability of information provided to counsel.

Document Preparation Turnaround Time: Average time taken to draft and revise legal documents, reflecting efficiency in document management.

Contract Compliance Rate: Percentage of contracts managed that adhere to compliance standards and key deadlines, demonstrating effective contract administration.

Stakeholder Communication Effectiveness: Satisfaction score from stakeholders regarding the clarity and usefulness of communication materials prepared.

Case Management Efficiency: Number of case files organized and maintained within established timelines, assessing the effectiveness of case tracking and documentation.
