Litigation in Tampa is seeking a Paralegal to join their team.

Paralegal will work independently handling cases from pre-suit to mediation to trial. Candidates must be able to work within the following qualifications:

This is an in-office position.Have insurance defense experience.Be prepared to take on a full case load from day one in a fast paced environment.Be familiar with legal and medical terminology, as well as have an extensive understanding of preparing summaries of claims files, depositions, medical records, medical bills, supporting documents and miscellaneous investigation materials to determine validity of claims for liability and damages.Be able to prepare pleadings and discovery, as well as prepare deposition, mediation and/or trial related materials independently while working in collaboration with attorneys.Be able to communicate, in writing and verbally, important case related information and materials as it relates to liability and damages with the assigned attorney handling the file to improve the attorney's productivity and efficiency.Be detail oriented, have a great vocabulary, be an experienced proofreader, and work well under pressure at times. Overtime may be necessary from time to time.Be able to multi-task and manage time efficiently.Minimum billing requirement of 140 hours per month.

Candidates must be familiar with and have working knowledge of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and the operation of Civil and Federal Courts throughout the State of Florida with respect to deadlines and judicial requirements. Electronic filing a plus.

Candidates may also be assigned a variety of clerical tasks from time to time.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Case Management Software general knowledge a plus.

3-5 years current litigation experience as a paralegal with billing experience a must.
