Job Overview
Weatherford is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our Legal Team based in Dubai, UAE. This position is responsible for providing direct support to the legal team across the MENA and Asia Pacific regions, reporting to the Senior Paralegal. The role includes in-house paralegal responsibilities as well as managing efficiencies across the group. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage the corporate affairs of legal entities across the MENA and ASIA Pacific regions, including corporate governance, restructuring, incorporations, liquidations, Annual General Meetings (AGMs) and Ordinary General Meetings (OGMs), and overseeing the execution of all corporate changes to these entities. Review a variety of corporate contracts, including leases, inter-company agreements, share/asset transfer agreements, shareholder agreements, and nominee agreements. Draft and prepare various legal documents such as resolutions, powers of attorney, certifications, and other corporate legal documentation. Play a significant role in the preparation and coordination of documentation for major divestitures, collaborating closely with the head office in Houston, Texas, and working alongside top-tier U.S. law firms involved in the transactions Liaise with local and overseas governmental authorities (e.g., Department of Economic Development, Zonescorp, and notary publics) to complete corporate-related transactions and filings. Work closely with internal teams, including Tax, Finance, Commercial Operations, and PRO teams, to ensure the smooth completion of transactions requiring corporate legal input. Manage relationships with external parties such as external counsels, joint venture partners, agents, accountants, and other stakeholders involved in corporate matters. Ensure all corporate operations and legal processes comply with the company’s ethics and business conduct policies. Manage legal invoicing for the legal team, using our internal tracking system called Legal Tracker, including reviewing and posting invoices to Tracker, opening and closing matters, liaising with external clients (i.e., law firms and corporate agents) to process invoices.Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and follow-up skills Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail Proficiency in managing complex projects and meeting deadlines Strong knowledge of corporate law, business transactions, and regional regulatory requirements Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Arabic) is an advantage. Advanced proficiency in software programs such as MS office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, DocuSign; experience with document management systems (e.g. iManage) and entities management software (e.g. GEMS) is a plus, and other document management systems. The ability to use these tools effectively to track and manage corporate documents, contracts, and transactions is essential.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in law, legal studies, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assistant/paralegal in a law firm and/or corporate law department.#LI-MD1
