Paralegal/Contract Specialist
Responsibilities This position is responsible for working directly with internal stakeholders on drafting, negotiation, assessment, and total lifecycle management of the contract management at HBFF. The Paralegal/Contract Specialist shall also be responsible for the administration of the contract management system. The Paralegal/Contract Specialist must possess strong communication and collaboration skills and have the ability to effectively manage a demanding workload in the execution of multiple concurrent projects across geographic and organizational boundaries. Draft, evaluate, and negotiate written contracts of all types, including (in coordination with licensed attorneys representing Hazelden Betty Ford) Manage the entire lifecycle of the contractual obligations of the organization, from initiation through execution, amendment, renewal, and termination/expiration, including tracking key milestones, deadlines, and obligations. Assist with the development and implementation of contract management processes, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness Serve as the point of contract and liaison for all stakeholders on contractual matters and provide contract-related guidance to all stakeholders Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field, paralegal certificate, or equivalent (5+ years) relevant work experience 3+ legal contract experience including drafting, reviewing, and amending contracts/agreements Experience in contract management and administration throughout the contract lifecycle process Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with all levels within the organization Customer services skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate information on the telephone or using email and other written correspondences Communication skills sufficient to write and edit reports, letters, and other documents using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence structure Proficient in contract or legal matter management tools, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint Preferred Qualifications: Project management or process improvement experience Overview The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is the largest nonprofit addiction recovery organization in the United States.
