Paralegal Franchise Business - US Based Remote

Anywhere Brands Legal Department interfaces with all disciplines and departments within Anywhere. The Department contributes to the company’s success by supporting the real estate franchise brands and other shared service departments in all aspects of operations and we are looking for an experienced and detailed paralegal to report to a Senior Paralegal in furtherance of Department’s goals and objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist manager and attorneys in managing the annual Franchise Disclosure Document update and process which includes developing a project plan, task and responsibilities list and timeline.

· Field inquiries to business people to gather necessary information for all FDDs and related documents and outline requirements for any FDD related documents.

· Draft, revise all FDD related documents with annual updates for attorney review.

· Support manager in franchise renewals and amendment applications and work with attorneys to handle state examiner comments, as needed.

· Assist with maintaining and organizing franchise disclosure files and ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.

· Perform special assignments relating to FDD and regulatory compliance matters including researching pending legislation and rule changes related to the disclosure process.

· Assist manager and attorneys in the preparation of compliant international disclosure documents, including conducting detailed research and analysis of international franchise regulations.

· Maintain and update international disclosure document and franchise agreement templates to comply with jurisdictional changes.

· Assist with complex legal departmental projects.

· Update legal database for up-to-date tracking of franchise documents.

· Assist in the preparation of presentations and training materials for internal teams and participate in conducting training sessions.

· Assist manager and attorneys in maintaining corporate officer lists, clearing litigation and bankruptcy matters for franchisees by accessing various online legal resources, reviewing due diligence reports and managing the department document management system.

· Assist in marketing and vendor contract review, as needed.

 

Qualifications:

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field.

· Paralegal certification preferred.

· Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a paralegal

· Strong understanding of franchise agreements, disclosure documents, and regulatory compliance preferred.

· Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

· Proficiency in legal research tools and software.

· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
