Paralegal Risk Management Coordinator
Job Description

Risk Management Coordinator

Certified Paralegal Preferred -OR- LPN or RN Preferred.

Responsible for assisting leaders in administering the risk management program on a day-to-day basis, including managing and analyzing risk management data, facilitating systems analysis to promote and improve patient safety, conducting and facilitating risk management educational programs based upon availability and identified needs, and compliance with The Joint Commission's standards relating to risk management and patient safety.

Certified Paralegal Preferred with experience in: Medical Malpractice, Nursing Home Neglect, Personal Injury, and Wrongful Death. - OR- LPN or RN preferred. 

Minimum Education of  a High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associates degree or higher highly desired.

Three to five (3-5) years nursing quality and / or risk management experience preferred OR five to ten (5-10) years paralegal experience in at least Medical Malpractice AND at least one of the following other areas: Nursing Home Neglect, Personal Injury, or Wrongful Death experience.

Excellent organizational skills required. High level critical thinking skills and problem resolution skills required. Computer skills with word processing, graphics, presentation tools, and data base programs required. In depth knowledge of Joint Commission standards, Federal / State laws / regulations required. Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities and deadlines required. Presentation skills required.

Additional desired experience:

Experience in risk management, both court room experience and trial preparation experience, preferred. Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and/or Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred. RN licensed to practice nursing in required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) required. Excellent customer service skills required.
