Paralegal (Trademark/IP)

PURPOSE

Provide paralegal and administrative support for our legal department, focusing on intellectual property support (trademark and patent) but also including contract support, and litigation support and interacting with business clients and partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide general legal support relating to a wide variety of legal matters including intellectual property, contracts, litigation, filing and administrative support. Assist in developing reports and presentations, drafting basic legal documents, compiling evidence, and organizing/maintaining databases and legal files. Assist with intellectual property clearance, including research of trademark and patent databases. Assist in intellectual property prosecution, including collecting necessary documentation, specimens of use, and other evidence needed for filings and renewals. Prepare form contracts (i.e. NDAs, Partnership Agreements) for review and signature. Maintain department files and records. Provide litigation support, including legal hold preservations, identifying and scheduling witnesses, and procuring discovery and evidence. Provide administrative support including matter filing, organizing travel and schedules, and processing expense reports. Support special projects as needed.

REQUISITE EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years as a Paralegal, with experience in intellectual property clearance preferred Proficient in MS Office 365 Preferred but not required: Paralegal certificate, familiarity with Anaqua, Saegis, DocuSign, and LegalTracker

The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is ($48-52/hr). Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, and proficiency for the role.
