This job communicates effectively with co-workers, patients, family, and visitors. Provides a safe work environment for the patient and performs all functions as delegated by the staff Registered Nurse, and/or via written protocol, as approved by the Medical Director or Staff MD.
Education
Required –Graduate from accredited paramedic program with a license to practice in the State of Louisiana
Work Experience
Required -4 yearscurrent paramedic field care experience
Preferred – Prior air medical transport experience
Certifications
Required –National Registry license to practice in the State of Mississippi
CPR Healthcare Provider Certification
Preferred – BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to and experience working with and maintaining confidential information. Ability to and experience working in a fast-paced environment.Job Duties
Works collaboratively with and under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse to provide for the delivery of patient care through the use of the nursing process. Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas. Provides customer service to patients, families and staff. Adapts to change in a positive, constructive manner. Participates in activities for professional development and maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
