Overview Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service, Inc. Overview: Superior Ambulance Service (SAS) is looking for highly motivated and self-driven EMT’s/AEMT’s to advance their career in Emergency Medical Services. We are offering a free sponsored Paramedic course for qualified candidates through our Michigan licensed proprietary school- Life Support Training Institute (LSTI). LSTI’s Paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) and is in good standing. After successful completion of this fifteen (15) month course, students can challenge the NREMT Paramedic exams and receive a Michigan Paramedic license. All course costs are covered by SAS including tuition, supplies, software programs, textbook(s), and the cost of the NREMT exam. Upon receiving their Michigan Paramedic license, the student will be hired by SAS and will be contractually obligated to work a minimum of thirty (30) hours per week for twenty four (24) consecutive months. Responsibilities: Applicants will be required to take a pre-placement assessment covering math, English language proficiency, anatomy and physiology, and EMT knowledge. Results will be used to rank candidates from highest to lowest. Course Details: Start Date- September 19,, 2023 End Date- December 17, 2024 Course Length- 15 months Course Days- Tu/Th Times- 9:00am- 3:00pm Class Format: (student will choose 1) In-person at our Southfield campus Hybrid Online- (Must have computer, webcam, microphone, and reliable internet. Webcam required to be on at all times.) **OPTION- in lieu of a twenty-four (24) month work commitment with Superior Ambulance Service, candidates have the option of paying out-of-pocket for the course. Qualifications Must be eighteen (18) years of age High school diploma or GED equivalent Valid driver’s license in State of residency Must have current Michigan EMT license Candidates must have a good driving record and pass a criminal background check Candidates will be required to complete a physical, 10 panel drug screen, and lift test all paid for by Superior Ambulance Service. Complete immunization record ** LSTI will work with candidates to ensure completeness Responsibilities The primary duties and responsibilities of the Paramedic consist of, but are not limited to the following: To provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in their training as a Paramedic. To provide safe transportation, to include accurately discerning street names through map reading, the ability to correctly distinguish house numbers, and addresses of business locations, in the most expedient manner, are essential. To appropriately assess a patient and accurately convey the condition to other medical professionals. To provide an accurate written report describing a patient's condition, medical history, and the treatment provided. To provide appropriate documentation for billing information. To maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition, in addition to monitoring all fluid levels and gauges. Qualifications EMT National Registry and/or current state license (or pending). Ability to provide - medical care, at the EMT or Paramedic level, while safely transporting patients. Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record. Pass a pre-employment interview including a physical and lifting examination and a drug screening. Attend company provided training and driving course.
