Responsibilities

The Paramedic provides direct patient care:

administers medications utilizing the five (5) Patient Rightsidentifies significant changes or high risk situationscompletes all documentation in a timely mannerdemonstrates knowledge and use of equipment encountered in the ambulance department or in hospitalcommunicates patient status at transfer of careadjusts own workload as neededassess, identifies, and communicates staffing needs to Coordinator or adjusts staffing needs to current situationis responsible for the supervision, safety of EMT’s, staff, and bystanders, and coordinates the patient care with ancillary departments involved in either direct or indirect patient care
