Job Summary
The Paramedic – Emergency Department provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals across the lifespan, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations. Working under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians, the Paramedic delivers technical and clinical support in a fast-paced emergency setting. Responsibilities include performing advanced life support interventions, facilitating patient flow, administering medications within scope, and assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This role ensures a safe, efficient, and therapeutic environment for patients and families, contributing to positive outcomes through collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.

Technical School completion of an accredited Paramedic program requiredAssociate Degree in Emergency Medical Services or a related field preferred0-2 years of EMT-P experience requiredExperience working in a hospital-based emergency department, ambulance service, or critical care transport unit preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in emergency medical procedures and advanced life support techniques.Ability to assess and respond effectively to diverse medical emergencies, including trauma, respiratory distress, cardiac events, and neurological crises.Proficiency in operating emergency medical equipment, including defibrillators, oxygen administration devices, stretchers, and patient transport tools.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.Ability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and delivering exceptional care.Competence in operating medical equipment and using EMR systems for documentation.Understanding of state and federal EMS regulations, including scope of practice and emergency transport procedures.Licenses and Certifications
