Job Summary:
Assist in planning, organizing, and co-facilitating parent/caregiver family events and workshops that promote positive youth development and optimal health.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates activities for monthly family events, in person and virtual, and actively seek parental involvement in community mobilization events that promote positive youth development and optimal health. Some events are but are not limited to: family dinners, family unity nights, block parties, health fairs, and back-to-school fairs.Refers parents and caregivers to supportive services such as employment services, trauma education/treatment, family counseling, and parent education. Establishes and maintains a rapport with Club and school staff and parents.Facilitates the S.T.A.R.T. (Sex Talk as Real Talk) workshops for parents and caregivers of program participants.Tracks parent/caregiver participation and documents results and progress.Generates monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports as requested, while meeting all deadlinesEngages the families of participants in the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program to communicate with their child to reduce and help avoid risk and increase safety by encouraging self-efficacy and promoting the reduction of high-risk behaviors.Encourages emotional, social, and educational growth of parents.Must participate in required trainings by the Club, and /or funder.Participates in continuing education opportunities.Education Requirements:
BA/BS in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health or 4 years of equivalent experienceExperience Requirements:
Experience in program implementation.Experience directly related to family engagementSkills:
Elevated level of creativity and problem-solving ability. Demonstrated examples of managing through a crisis.Basic computer literacy and ability to utilize Excel and agency software for tracking budgets and attendance. Ability to learn and utilize modern technologies and apply technology to communication, organization, and other key job tasks.Ability to inspire and empower youth as they participate in programs that address both the needs and interests of the members served.Must have a valid WI driver’s license, good driving record, and meets state-required automobile insurance minimums.Physical Demands:
