Salary: $17.30/hour ($36,000/year) Position Summary: The Parent Educator is responsible for delivering all components of the Parents as Teachers (PAT) model using the PAT Foundational Curriculum, implementing the Essential Requirements and Quality Assurance Guidelines with fidelity, and collecting data requested by PAT National Center and program funders. Technical/Functional Expectations: Training: Attend all required trainings to become certified with PAT Service and Treatment Delivery: Use the PAT Foundational Curriculum and resources to plan and deliver home visiting services to qualifying families and Ensure services and treatment are delivered from a strength-based framework and customized in order to meet individualized needs of consumers and are culturally competent. Planning/Scheduling/Meeting multiple deadlines: Meet with supervisor as necessary to discuss procedures, protocol and other administrative processes to ensure quality record keeping, data entry and quality provision of services to families. Relationship Maintenance: Maintain a caseload of families, prepare and conduct personal visits with each enrolled family and complete a range of screenings for each enrolled family. Foster and maintain ongoing relationships with family members, service providers, and identified resources in order to call on others to implement client plans. On- going training: Attend staff meetings and complete annual required competency-based professional development hours to remain certified as a Parents as Teachers parent educator. Documentation/accountability: Clearly document details of each visit, assessments, screenings, referrals to resources, etc. and enter into data system timely. Other duties as required: Job performance requires fulfilling other incidental or related duties as assigned, assisting and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions from time to time for developmental purposes. Business Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience with home visiting: Demonstrated ability to work with adults and their young children in an educational setting, preferably in an agency or school setting or through participating in home visits. Strong computer/data entry skills: This experience is required in order to maintain our utilization management system. Valid Driver's License-Essential: This position requires a valid driver’s license in order to travel throughout the County. Educational and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required. AA/AS - Associates Degree or equivalent preferred. 2 years of experience in home visiting with families/young children Physical Requirements: 1. Lifting 20 pounds 2. Carrying 20 pounds 3. Grasping 4.
