This position is full-time, clinical position, to assist our Outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy team. The goal of this position is to elevate the care we give our patients by participation in process improvement projects, developing education for patients and clinicians, and offloading administrative tasks to allow our front-line providers to increase their capacity to spend more time in direct patient care. Specific projects this internship will be working on include creating patient/provider education with therapists, improve flow of patient care from arrival, through the therapeutic process, and end of session with scheduling for further appointments. Improve operational efficiencies with department cleaning, allowing therapists to spend more time in direct patient care. We are looking for candidates who possess self-initiative with strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills. We work with people in person, being able to converse in person is needed. Must meet one of the following requirements current CNA EMT or Paramedic certification or must take Parkviews Patient Care Foundations course at time of hire 2 years experience in a healthcare related field training time will be determined based on experience currently enrolled in nursing school having completed first clinical rotations if hired prior to 12/3/18 two (2) years military medical experience will be accepted. Must have current CPR at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association or obtain within 60 days of hire. CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification preferred or must have the equivalent of health care experience and education two (2) years previous experience in a nursing support role OR a nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited program (ASN or BSN) having completed their first clinical rotation on an extended care or inpatient nursing unit (nursing school transcripts required). Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). If assigned to the Parkview Randallia Family Birthing Center must be bonded as a notary public within 6 months of hire. Previous experience is preferred in direct patient care through work and/or school program. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must have a working knowledge of computer skills and applications. Demonstrates ability to critically think. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds.
