Parkview Wabash & Huntington Administration Summer Non-Clinical Intern
The ideal candidate for this internship would be someone interested in healthcare administration/management. The intern will be exposed to operations of two community hospitals -- Parkview Wabash and Parkview Huntington. They will attend a wide variety of meetings -- both in-house and within the community -- shadow in all departments, and work on a variety of projects. Projects could include an internal newsletter for both hospitals, management of the Pulse pages, coordination of community events, patient experience data analysis, financial spreadsheets, and data entry. The specific skillsets that we would like the intern to posses includes excellent communication skills with an emphasis on written communication, relationship building, ability to work independently, creative, organized, outgoing, and lastly innovative is key.
This internship will be unique since it will be split between Parkview Huntington and Wabash Hospital. This day shift position will work around 32 hours per week. The time would be split -- two days per week in Wabash: two days per week in Huntington. The intern will be given a choice of their day off.
This internship will be a best fit for a student studying in the areas of Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Public Relations, Public Health, Journalism and lastly, Business Administration. Must be a current undergraduate college student or graduate college student. Specific educational focus or degree may be preferred depending on the hosting department of the internship. Specific license and/or certification may be preferred depending on the hosting department of the internship. GPA of 3.0 or above Submission of Cover Letter Resume and Letter of Recommendation. Other qualifications may vary by department of internship.
