Part Time Accounts Payable Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Part Time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented and has excellent organizational and communication skills. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely within Colorado and primarily in Mountain Standard Time (MST). You will play a critical role in managing our accounts payable processes and assist in various accounting and finance-related tasks.
Responsibilities
+ Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
+ Act as a liaison between corporate and field; including researching issues prior to payment.
+ Code invoices in the accounting system, working with markets where additional information is required.
+ Answer all vendor and market inquiries.
+ Maintain and compile all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and files.
+ Prepare analysis of accounts, as required.
+ Assist in monthly closings by posting all invoices received by the last day of the month.
+ Prepare analysis of accounts to assist vendors in reconciling our records and theirs, as required.
+ Identify and correct potential opportunities to minimize expenses.
+ Distribute signed checks; assemble and process overnight shipments to branches and vendors.
+ Resolve collection issues and follow up with various properties on outstanding Security Deposits.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ 3-5 years of accounts payable experience.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including knowledge of Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPS.
+ Experience with QuickBooks Online.
+ Experience with Expense Reporting (Expensify).
+ Experience with credit card reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are documented, have receipts, and are coded correctly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with time tracking.
+ Experience using procurement software.
+ Degree in a relevant field (experience will be considered in lieu of education).
+ Experience reviewing contracts and preparing invoices for project managers.
+ Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in work with excellent attention to detail.
+ Ability to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.
+ Adaptability to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, and dealing with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to gather and analyze information skillfully.
+ Excellent customer service skills, including managing difficult client/customer situations and responding promptly to customer and employee needs.
+ Consistent punctuality, following instructions, and responding to management direction.
Work Environment
The majority of the accounting and finance team works remotely. This role requires the individual to be located in Colorado and work in Mountain Standard Time (MST). The position is part-time at 20 hours a week, with the potential to increase to 40 hours a week and transition to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
