Carnegie Mellon’s Pre-College Programs is hiring several part-time application and enrollment readers for the winter and early spring of 2025 (mid-January to the end-March).
Core responsibilities include:
Trainings and weekly meeting attendance
Thoroughly and holistically evaluate application materials, helping to enroll an academically and artistically qualified, diverse Pre-College cohort
Review enrollment documentation ensuring preparedness for program participation
Complete assigned readings/articles/materials to ensure adequate knowledge of current and historical admission/higher education information
Other tasks that may be assigned
Readers will work approximately 17.5-20 hours per week and will have a flexible schedule. Selected candidates need to be available for training from January 13 – January 17, then will begin working more regular hours starting January 20. Readers will use their personal computers to access the secure online application and enrollment portal to complete work assignments.

Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills
Proficient with technology OR technology user
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
1-3 years of prior admission, recruiting and/or secondary education experience required
Ability to attend weekly staff meetings
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advising or work with a community-based organization advancing education and career opportunities
Previous application and/or enrollment reading experience
