Lead, Inspire, and Dive into Excellence with Our Aquatics Team - South Side YMCA is hiring a part-time Aquatics Team Lead!

Salary range of $16.34-$19.00 per hour with part time benefits and opportunities to grow within the organization.

As an Aquatics Team Lead, you will assist with supervising lifeguard staff, planning and running the monthly in-service trainings,
and performing daily audits. This role will also assist with training new staff and can aide in creating the lifeguard schedule.

Scope of Responsibilities 

Acts as a liaison between Aquatic Director and aquatic staff. Serves as point of contact when Aquatics Director and Aquatics Manager are not available. Assists in scheduling lifeguards to ensure safety and quality program delivery. Assists in supervising lifeguards as well as providing evaluation input. Teaches lifeguard certification classes as needed. Assists in training new lifeguard staff. Acts as a primary responder in case of injury, accident, or illness and is knowledgeable of emergency procedures. Provides backup to lifeguards as needed in emergencies. Reports injuries and completes required forms. Immediately notify a supervisor of any broken equipment or unsafe aspects of the pool. Assists in conducting all staff in-services as scheduled. Assists with ensuring adherence to state and county standards. Supports the YMCA’s mission and community hub operations as needed.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

Must have a High School Diploma First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguard Certification. Ability to successfully pass the American Red Cross lifeguard swim pre-test swim. Mentally alert to dangerous situations in order to assure the safety of all swimmers. Physical mobility to properly use aquatic equipment to rescue a 200 lb. person. Physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and administer CPR and First Aid effectively
