About the Roles 
 

BMA Rail currently has an exciting opportunity for experienced Level 1 Train Drivers to join the Rail Operations Team based at Hay Point Coal Terminal, Mackay working a part time roster.
As an experienced BMA Rail Train Driver, you will operate within safe work practices to ensure the reliable delivery of coal from BMA Mine sites to the Hay Point Coal Terminal. It is critical that you perform all duties in accordance with Network rules, regulations and safe operating procedures. 

This is an ideal 4 days on / 12 days off part time roster, in addition Mackay and surrounds offers excellent lifestyle opportunities and development opportunities are on offer. This role is a residentially located role (no FIFO on offer). 

Working part-time you would be 50% of the full-time roster equivalent. 

To ensure you are set up for success you will be required to participate in BMA Rail Inductions and Mandatory Training. This will require you to be available on a full-time capacity for approximately 4 weeks initially upon commencement in the role.
 

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
 

Operating BMA Coal Trains on the Aurizon Network System consistent within the BMA Operating Rules, Regulations and Safe Work Procedures applicable. Providing services including but not limited to mainline operations, marshalling and yard activities, coal loading and unloading, relieving drivers up track and all other associated tasks with regards to Rail Operations. Carrying out routine checks, preparations and instructions including provisioning of locos, trouble shooting and minor fault rectification within the scope of competence. Accurately complete documentation and data entry.   Undertaking mentoring of Trainee Drivers to your level of competency excluding assessment; and participating in continuous improvement programs.

 

About You 

To be successful, you will:  
  

Hold a current Locomotive Drivers Certificate of Competency Previous experience in the Goonyella Rail system is well regarded Have previous experience with E40AC locomotives, distributed power operations and ECP braking (desirable)  Unrestricted Open C Class Driver’s License Strong computer skills and ability to maintain high safety standards, equipment serviceability, housekeeping and compliance within working procedures will be first class and  Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills About Our Process
