Part-Time Faculty: Media Diversity + Inclusion on Broadway (Summer ‘25) 3 credits
The Syracuse University Newhouse NYC semester is seeking an adjunct instructor for a new Communications course called Topics in Media Diversity and Inclusion: Broadway Theater. The adjunct instructor will teach on Tuesdays 6:00pm-9:10pm during the Summer 2025 semester which begins on May 27, 2025 and ends on July 29, 2025. This position is based in NYC (classes cannot meet virtually). Course Description: The Syracuse University Newhouse NYC semester is seeking an adjunct instructor for a new Communications course called Topics in Media Diversity and Inclusion: Broadway Theater. The course will be an introduction to the fundamental issues surrounding diversity, inclusion and equity in media as approached through the lens of musical theater, specifically within Broadway and off-Broadway shows. Students will be exposed to industry professionals who cover Broadway, such as editors, social media strategists, casting directors, producers and more. The professor will also take the students to a total of three shows likely on three Thursday nights. These dates will be determined with the professor and the Director and Assistant Director of Newhouse NYC. This position is located at the Fisher Center, Syracuse University’s consolidated academic campus at 136 Madison Avenue, NY, NY The expected salary range for this position is $1,700 per credit hour.
