Part-Time Faculty - American Sign Language - ASL (Fall 2025)
ASL 101/601 AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE I (4 credits) ASL 101/601 provides an introduction to American Sign Language (ASL) as a living, unique language underlying Deaf culture in the United States. It is designed for students with no background in ASL, minimal signing skills, or those who studied non-ASL manual communication systems (like Signed Exact English). Students will learn basic vocabulary and grammar to participate and understand basic conversations in ASL. The course will also introduce aspects of Deaf culture in the United States.
