This position will work one on one, with multiple clients, or in a group fitness setting either in the Preston Health & Activity Center Fitness Center, Health & Fitness Lab, or Dance Studio. The main focus of the Fitness instructor is to lead clients and participants in a safe, effective, and engaging exercise routine.
When leading small group or personal training sessions, the Fitness Instructor is to set up realistic short term and long term goals and create an appropriate exercise program. They will work with clients in training sessions with the purpose of helping them achieve improvement in cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility; as well as to monitor and record progress. During group fitness classes, the Fitness Instructor is to demonstrate proper form, give safety cues, and communicate effectively with participants.
Job Requirements:
+ Possess a National Certification through an accredited recognized professional organization devoted to fitness and related areas, such as ACSM, ACE, AFAA, NSCA, CSCS or obtain within 60 days of hire
+ Experience taking or leading personal training or group fitness classes
+ Interpersonal and communication skills
+ Ability to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire
+ HS Diploma or GED

Hourly Rate: $16.00
