Part-Time Forester/Vegetation Management Specialist

 

Dewberry is currently seeking a part-time Forester/Vegetation Management Specialist for our Environmental Services Department in the Parsippany, NJ office.  Preferred experience includes management of forestry inventory levels, natural resource characterization knowledge, and management of forestry programs.  The individual will assist professionals with work associated with aspects of forestry, natural resource inventory and analysis, permitting and mitigation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for this career opportunity include providing horticultural and forestry management knowledge where needed for project planning or implementation. The successful individual will assist in the desktop review and/or field assessment of wooded natural resources for various types of projects, and help conduct soil, hydrology and vegetation inventories/plant identifications, as applicable.   

Required Skills & Required Experience Bachelor of Science in Forestry, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Studies or related field. NJ Certified Tree Expert certification requiredISA Certified Arborist certification is preferred.Knowledge of GIS ArcMap and GPS technologies is preferred.Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation is a plus. Ability to work in a team environment and perform field work.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
