Part-time Global Forwarding Coordinator
Job Title: Part-time Global Forwarding Coordinator Job Description This role is a part-time, weekend opportunity for a conscientious individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will be a quick learner, able to think on your feet, handle problem-solving, and manage repetitive tasks and escalate when necessary. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure there are no gaps in freight movement over the weekend. You will multi-task and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional service. The Global Forwarding Coordinator supports, collaborates, and assists global forwarding personnel with customer shipment details, covering the peddle run business, supporting inland teams, air export, and import. Responsibilities + Understand the processes involved in international shipping from purchase order to delivery of cargo at the ultimate destination. + Assist global forwarding personnel and other third parties with inquiries and problem resolution. + Generate, file, and maintain up-to-date and accurate customer records, reports, shipment documentation, etc. + Provide tracking and tracing services for customer shipments. + Provide support and backup for the delivery and turnovers. + Perform load-audits. + Provide reporting and documentation collection support to global forwarding personnel and ensure customer data integrity. + Ensure adherence to customer SOPs, government agency regulations, and company standards. + Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Essential Skills + High School Diploma/GED + Basic Excel and Outlook skills + 6 months to 2 years of previous work experience in logistics, inventory, or supply chain capacity + Ability to think on your feet and problem solve + Excellent communication and soft skills Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in logistics or transportation (export/import) is a plus Work Environment This role will be 100% remote, but the candidate must be local to IL. Equipment will be provided. This is an open-ended contract with hours about 20-25 per week, starting around 5 pm on Fridays, and covering Saturday days and Sunday days. Hours example: Friday: 5 pm - 9 pm (or longer), Saturday: 8 am - 5 pm, Sunday: 8 am - 5 pm. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
