Part Time Grants Manager

Beacon Hill is hiring! Our firm is excited to partner with an impactful Chicago foundation in hiring a part-time Grants Manager for a contract position starting in April. The Grants Manager will be responsible for facilitating the foundation's grantmaking process, ensuring compliance with IRS regulations, and maintaining strong relationships with grantees. This role involves intaking grant requests, processing payments, and prepping materials for the organization's board. This contract is scheduled to last 4-6 months and our client is open to hybrid or remote applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

Grant Management & Administration:

Oversee the day-to-day management of the organization's grants management system.Ensure compliance with foundation and IRS regulatory requirements.Work with program staff to invite new proposals.Keep contact and organization records up to date.

Grantee Relations & Communications:

Serve as the primary point of contact for grantees, providing guidance and support throughout the grant cycle.Provide technical assistance to grantees, applicants, and staff.Work with communications staff to draft and release web announcement for grant approvals.

Financial & Compliance Oversight:

Work with the accounting team to ensure proper disbursement and monitoring of funds.Draft and send out grant agreements for the organization's grant approvals.Run reports from the grants management system in response to staff data requests.

Qualifications & Skills:

3+ years of experience in grants management or philanthropy.Experience with Fluxx (grants management database) is required.Strong computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office.Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.Knowledge of tax laws and regulations related to charitable giving.Can primarily work during Central Standard Time zone.Ability to exercise discretion and act in a confidential manner is of utmost importance.
