JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Education Initiative (http://www.bellisario.psu.edu/research/centers/holocaust-genocide-and-human-rights-education-initiative-at-penn-state) at Penn State seeks an Assistant to work on communications, media relations, and outreach. The Initiative provides innovative professional development (PD) to enable K-12 teachers to teach complex and challenging social issues. This is a wage position that requires 10 hours per week during Spring 2025 semester. Preferably, the successful applicant will currently be enrolled in a graduate program, but not on assistantship. The successful candidate will work with the Initiative team on such tasks as researching, writing and editing stories about the Initiative’s work, news releases, and social media posts, as well as contacting media outlets and helping promote events and related activities. The Assistant will report directly to the Initiative Director, work with other Initiative team members, and serve as a general support person for the activities of the Initiative.
