Part-Time Information Technology Field Technician

As an Information Technology Field Technician, you will run information technology (IT) in the field offices, and act autonomously to define the tasks and equipment necessary to fully support field employees and Company objectives.

In this role you will:

Ensure that all district hardware and software is operating properly, and replace defective equipment as necessary; upgrade hardware and operating systems (OS) per IT standards and direction; administer user rights, and ensure access to necessary network resources and data

Maintain accurate inventory of all leased and owned personal computers (PC), servers, and network hardware in an online environment; coordinate replacement and return of equipment as leases expire, including physically lifting, moving, boxing, palatizing, and preparing equipment for shipment

Assist district and branch employees in ordering new units as needed; install new personal equipment on desktops, as well as under and around workstations as required

Support district and branch offices and assist field employees with training; provide direction, or recommend alternatives; handle escalated levels of technical problems or refer to a Level II if required

Maintain clean and secure environment in all areas of building relating to communications, data hardware, and materials; maintain security on all machines including the Company's standard image, current virus definitions, and patches as they become available

Maintain print and scan, wireless, and mobility environments; voice infrastructure, including service, hardware, and software

Configure, install/uninstall, and maintain infrastructure hardware and software using standard procedures for existing, new, and closing locations; maintain accurate work logs using the trouble ticket system

Recommend ways to improve processes by automating manual work; provide feedback to IT management on issues and continuous improvement

Document placement of all equipment at the main distribution frame (MDF) and intermediate distribution frame (IDF) areas, and keep an online record of pictures, change logs, and diagrams; assure all field sites are updated and kept accurate

What you bring to the table:

Minimum 1 year technical experience required; 2+ years experience preferred

2 year degree preferred

Microsoft network Administration with Microsoft Certified professional preferred

Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds without assistance, as well as walk, bend, twist, squat, stoop, and maneuver in limited spaces daily as required; safety shoes may be required

Knowledge of fundamental hardware and software concepts

Experience with practices and procedures of operating and maintaining infrastructure hardware and Active Directory administration

Able to interpret technical material in books, manuals, and technical diagrams

Ability to follow procedures and document activities

Time management and organizational skills

Problem solving and conflict resolution skills

Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Ability to work in a team-based environment

Ability to communicate technical computer terms and processes to field staff and customers using terminology the user can understand

Ability to make autonomous decisions within pre-defined levels of authority

Some travel required

Work shift and hours:

Part--time, hourly, non-exemptMonday - Friday20 hours/week to be worked between 6:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. (flexible schedule)

Compensation Details:

The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $29.00 per hour depending on experience.
