Instructor will teach Medical Terminology within Columbus ISD. Essential Duties • Provides instruction for medical terminology within Columbus ISD.
• Demonstrates a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence.
• Prepares and utilizes a course syllabus and assessments for each course according to current guidelines established by the institution.
• Maintains current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilizes a variety of instructional delivery methods (blended or on-line), classroom media, and educational resources.
• Provide a grade evaluation on each student’s performance through a variety of means to measure progress and keep them informed in a timely manner.
• Assists in the development, distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives.
• Provides recommendations to the Program Director, Academic Dean, and Curriculum Resource Team regarding curriculum additions, deletions, or revisions.
• Demonstrates a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community.
• Submits timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills, both written and orally.
Performs other duties related to program, and attend part time faculty meetings as assigned. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Associate’s degree in a health care field such as nursing, respiratory care, health information, etc. and 3 years non-teaching work experience in the field. Natural Science degree is also acceptable.
Must be an employee at Columbus ISD Preferred Experience and Training Bachelor’s degree in a health care field such as nursing, respiratory care, health information, etc. and 3 years non-teaching work experience in the field. Natural Science degree is also acceptable. Physical Requirements Required Degree, License or Certifications Associate’s degree in a health care field such as nursing, respiratory care, health information, etc. Natural Science degree is also acceptable.
