Salary $25 - $35 p/hour. Dependent on enrollments.
Hours Part-time, include requirement and total hours per week - 19.5 HOURS
Summary of Position
Overall duties and responsibilities are teaching all assigned classes and laboratory activities in a professional manner, assisting students on an individual and group basis and ensuring that the instructional programs of the Continuing Education department are of the highest quality and reflect current technology.
Minimum Required Education
High School Diploma or GED required and Valid Plumbers License
Minimum Required Experience
One (1) year of recent, related paid work experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Working experience and be able to perform all tasks related to plumbing construction, residential plumbing & some commercial plumbing knowledge to include: shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches, install underground storm, sanitary, or water piping systems, extending piping as needed to connect fixtures and plumbing, assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment, locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers or levels, cut, thread, or hammer pipes to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, or pipe benders, blue print reading, use of construction materials, site preparation, use of building and electrical codes, cost estimating and use of mathematics associated with the building trades industry.
+ Must possess teaching skills and be able to teach the program mentioned above, to include the following tasks: curriculum development and evaluation, program development, technical writing, recruitment & student counseling, transcript and work experience evaluation.
+ Knowledgeable of OSHA and hazardous material requirements.
+ Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the college’s auto insurance plan.
+ Willing to travel, able to drive at least a ¾ ton pickup, and able to pull up to a 24 ft trailer to and from educational sites off campus.
+ Ability to be dedicated and effective in all assigned classes
+ Ability to be professional in dress and appearance at all time and present a pleasant personality when dealing with students in a fair and consistent manner as well as other staff and faculty members.

The Continuing Education Department along with the Maintenance Technology/Building Trades Program requires instruction in the use of technical publications, construction materials, methods and applications, OSHA , Safety, MSDS , and Mathematics to include:
· Tool and equipment safety and maintenance.
· Construction, plumbing, electrical, concrete and masonry and safety.
· Blueprint reading.
· Use of power and hand tools.
· Use of precision measuring tools.
· Building, electrical and plumbing codes.
· Construction, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and cabinetry materials and use.
· Wall, roof, floor, door and window construction and repair.
· Wall coverings and painting and finishing and repair.
· Ceiling construction and finishing and repair.
· Basic wiring and repair.
· Plumbing rough in and repair.
· Cost estimating.
· Site preparation and safety.
· Cabinetry construction, installation and repair.
· Must be willing to learn new systems/procedures as needed.
