Keeps current on developments regarding instructional methodology & technology.
Make recommendations regarding curriculum additions, deletions, or revisions.
Provides a grade evaluation on each student’s performance in a fashion and frequency required by the college.
Participate in assessment assignments and data collection.
Performs other related tasks as assigned. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Primary teaching responsibilities will be for traditional (in-person) classes with likely demands for instructors at the Bryan Campus, RELLIS Campus, Brenham Campus, or at Dual Credit locations within the Blinn College District.
Possess a driver’s license to facilitate travel to different campuses if necessary.
For those who have approved Quality Matters courses, there may be future opportunities to teach different modalities, including blended/hybrid and online courses. However, because our need at this time is for in-person instruction, preference will be given to those candidates who can teach face-to-face classes. Preferred Experience and Training College teaching experience Experience teaching survey courses in United States history, Texas history, African American history, Mexican American history, or Western Civilization Experience with D2L (Learning Management System) Online or hybrid teaching experience Creating Quality Matters online courses Ph.D. in History Physical Requirements Required Degree, License or Certifications Masters degree (in any subject) with at least 18 graduate hours in history. Special Notes To Applicants Credentials The College assigns appropriately credentialed faculty members in support of educational quality and the mission of the College, in keeping with Board policy DBA LOCAL-X (Employment Requirements and Restrictions – Credentials and Records: Credentials). College policy is consistent with sound educational practice and SACSCOC guidelines. Primary consideration is given to the highest degree earned in the discipline.
