Job Title Part-Time Instructor of English Agency West Texas A&M University Department English, Philosophy & Modern Languages Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location Canyon, Texas Job Type Faculty Job Description Job Summary: The College of Fine Arts and Humanities has an opening for a Part-Time Instructor of English. This position would teach English courses, including Composition I, Composition II, and Technical Writing courses. Courses usually taught face-to-face, scheduled during regular working hours. Work Performed: Teach 1 or more English writing courses per semester, usually Composition and Technical Writing, usually face-to-face, and depending on departmental need. Faculty are expected to become familiar with and adhere to the online and written components of our departmental syllabi and assignments, respond to student questions promptly (within 24 business hours), and maintain regular grades in our online gradebook. Necessary Qualifications: MA or equivalent in English. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in and enthusiasm for teaching post-secondary Composition I, Composition II, or Technical Writing courses. Pedagogical creativity and innovation a plus.
