Part-time Instructor to be a section instructor for PAI 781 – Social Welfare Policy (online course – 3 credits). Course Description: This seminar will provide an overview of U.S. social welfare policy, with some exposure to social welfare policy approaches in other countries. We cover three branches of social welfare policy: income support policy (major emphasis), education (some emphasis) and health policy (less emphasis). Spending on these three areas comprises more than 70 percent of total government spending in the United States and an even higher fraction in other rich nations. Executive MPA online program section instructors will conduct a 90-minute synchronous or live section with 10-17 students at the same time each week for 10 weeks. Course is typically offered every other quarter-term with terms starting in January, April, July and October. The live session dates for the July 2025 quarter-term are as follows: Wednesday, July 2, 2025 through Tuesday, September 9, with exam week running through Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Live sessions are scheduled during exam week. Full-time residence in Syracuse, NY is not required.
