Additional Information About the Role

BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Part-Time Lab Associate I - Phlebotomy (early day shift) for Memorial Hospital Shiloh - Laboratory-MES (Memorial East Shiloh:1404 Cross St., Shiloh, IL) - Rehabilitation Center (TRISI).

 

***$500 Sign on Bonus*** for eligible candidates

 

 Position Details:

Part-Time (20 hours per week) – not eligible for benefits Day Shift Hours: Monday – Friday (5am- 9am) with one Saturday a monthDuties - Phlebotomy, patient preparation, venipuncture or fingerstick, sample labeling and storage, and ensuring proper hygiene and safety protocols. Play a role in patient education and communication, as well as maintaining patient records and equipment.

Experience:

1 year of Phlebotomy experience (preferred but not required)

Role Purpose

Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing and clerical duties associated with specimen collection.

 

Responsibilities

Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity.Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.
