Position Summary: As a Part-Time PM Line Cook, you would be responsible for all preparing all guest and employee orders according to standard recipes and/or as specified on guest check, cooking items by grilling, frying, sautéing, steaming, and other cooking methods as specified. You are responsible for ensuring that every order served meets our high standards, while ensuring consistency of the items. The successful candidate demonstrates a proactive approach to teamwork, supporting the kitchen culinary team when and where it is needed. Scheduling: This is a PART-TIME position working PM shifts from 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, with weekdays and heavy weekends, holidays, 2 - 4 days a week. The schedule will change weekly to support operational requirements. If you have a availability to work occational AM shifts when needed, that is a bonus. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks in the hotel kitchen to the highest standards: Completes daily prep responsibilities and sets kitchen line for service in a timely manner Prepare all hot food items according to company recipes and/or as specified on guest check. Checks the quality of the food to ensure consistency of product for the guest. Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, steaming, and other cooking methods as specified. Work together with the kitchen team in both roles of line cook and/or banquet cook as needed. Strictly follow all required cross-contamination protocols, company standards, and guidelines regarding cleanliness and food preparation Daily, routine, and detailed cleaning of commercial cooking equipment. Communicate with restaurant and culinary staff as needed for order clarification and/or order update. * This list is not all inclusive, additional job functions will be shared during interviews. Qualifications Can effectively understand, perform and communicate recipe information in the English language Moves food, equipment, carts, and tubs weighing up to 50 lbs. Move hands and fingers in grasping, pinching, chopping, pulling, and lifting motions associated with preparing and cooking products using knives, utensils and cookware. Positions self to clean commercial-grade kitchen equipment, including under and above hoods, counters and shelves. Capable of remaining in a standing position, either stationary or walking, for duration of 8-hr shift. Moves throughout line and kitchen to cook, clean, sanitize, and put away food in a timely manner. Capable of frequent and repeated lifting, bending, stooping, and extending arms fully, to perform essential job functions. Ability to observe and adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and company guidelines for food handling, cross-contamination protocols, and sanitation. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: The hotel functions seven (7) days a week and twenty-four (24) hours per day. Due to the seasonal nature and business hours of a hotel, candidates must realize it may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift as business demands. All associates are expected to perform any other duties as requested by management to support other departments and/or operational requirements. Experience A minimum of 6 months cooking experience as a line cook in a full-service restaurant or hotel is required. Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Licenses or Certificates Ability to provide or obtain the Food Handler License issued by an accredited food handler training program in the state of Texas. Grooming/Uniforms All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
