The 1:1 School LPN/LVN identifies and treats health disorders among students in the school setting. The 1:1 School LPN/LVN provides instruction for the student’s general wellbeing and disease prevention. The School LPN/LVN monitors the student’s physical conditions in the school setting and refers the student to appropriate resources as needed. The work of the School LPN/LVN is performed in compliance with his/her LPN/LVN scope of practice and according to state education codes.
Minimum Requirements:
Current LPN/LVN license for the state in which the nurse practices Current PPD or Chest X-Ray One year prior professional nursing experience in school setting preferred Pediatric experience preferred Current BLS card Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatment Considerable knowledge of child growth and development Some knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies Some knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services Understands the school organization and the community served Must be at least 18 years of ageModality:

Wheelchair bound, Seizure plan, Supplemental oxygen, Gtube (possible feedings needed, dependent on schedule) Bussing required – student lives about 2mi away Child centered and focused, medically inclined, able to work independently and self-sufficient Confirmed they would utilize the nurse for ESY and would want the nurse to continue with the student NSY Student is in afternoon class this year, next year may be switched to morning (tbd) June 23-July 17, M-Th 8a-12pStart/End Date:
