Part Time Online English Teacher
As a Johannesburg based permanent part-time online ESL teacher, you’ll benefit from having the support of an experienced team and company resources as well as working from the comfort of your home. Lesson materials are created by our academic team, so you can focus your energy on connecting personally with each student you meet in our group and private lessons. You’ll get great experience working in an international company while helping our adult learners from over 120 countries meet their personal and professional goals of learning English! Responsibilities Conduct 20- to 45-minute conversation-based group and private online lessons with adult learners.Provide after-class reports to all students, detailing their progress and ongoing recommendations for improvement.Correct student essay submissions via our online tools.Attend ongoing training, which is an essential requirement in EF’s superior teaching products.With more experience, create your own custom lesson material Must Have at Home Infrastructure: Uncapped Wi-Fi at a minimum of 20 Mbps up and download speed;Back-up power system such as a UPS (lasting a minimum of 4 hours) which remains charged and your Wi-fi router should be plugged into during load shedding;Surge plug protector (minimum required 230V – 50Hz)Transport the equipment by way of a private vehicle, to and from the office at your own cost. All equipment provided must at all times be stored/kept in a safe and secure environment.   Working Hours The Employee will be required to work on an Ad Hoc basis, i.e., on rostered days and hours dependent on the 24/7 operational requirements of the company. The company will schedule specific days and times per week, Mondays to Sundays, as per the agreed shift which may change to different times of the day and will be communicated in writing. Normal hours of work may vary and be rostered from 20 up to 45 hours per week, not exceed 45 hours of ordinary work per week. Flexibility will be required based on business needs.  Example of Currently Available Shifts: Tuesday to Sunday: 13h00 -18h00Sunday to Friday: 13h00 – 18h00Monday to Saturday: 13h00 – 18h00 Note: Available shifts may change during time of recruitment depending on operational needs and student availability  Pay Rates: Payment is based on an hourly rate of R41.76 per hour.Depending on your shift, the rates will vary from R41.76 to R79.24.Medical aid benefits available pending completion of a successful probation period.

You must live in South Africa and be in possession of a South African identity document.Must live in Johannesburg or have easy access to the Bryanston, Johannesburg office. C2 level English speaker with a neutral accent.Completed Bachelor’s degree (Compulsory).120-TEFL teaching qualifications (Preferred). If you do not have a TEFL qualification, EF will provide you with a TEFL course which must be completed prior to teaching.Highly computer literate.Professional, energetic, and excited about people.Must be able to work independently with limited supervision. Previous teaching experience is a plus but not required. Other work experience counts.
