Part-Time Physician- HIV Specialist

 

 

VNACJ Community Health Center (CHC) is a dynamic, community-focused healthcare provider dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals across diverse populations. We are currently seeking a dedicated Physician, HIV Specialist  to join our team at our Asbury Park location, providing specialized care to HIV patients while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to our community.

 

 

As an Physician, HIV Specialist at VNACJ CHC, you will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive care to HIV patients aged 16 and older, while also providing primary care services to a broad range of individuals. Your expertise will guide our patients through preventive care, complex disease management, and therapeutic interventions, ensuring their overall health and wellness. You will work in a collaborative, supportive environment with a passionate team of healthcare professionals, all focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for our patients.  Cultural sensitivity to members of the LGBTQIA+ community is essential.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care: Provide expert care to individuals living with HIV, including routine screenings, medication management, and health education. Manage common and complex medical conditions while promoting overall health and wellness.Treatment & Prescriptions: Diagnose and recommend courses of treatment for HIV and other conditions, prescribe medications, administer immunizations, and provide non-surgical care.Collaboration: Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care for patients, including the coordination of services with other providers when necessary.Community Impact: Participate in outreach programs to promote CHC services and raise awareness about HIV prevention and care.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services regulations, as well as with all licensing and accrediting bodies. Maintain complete and accurate patient records using our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.Education & Mentorship: Contribute to the development of in-service education for staff and engage in the continuous professional development of the healthcare team.Cultural Sensitivity: Provide care that is respectful of, and tailored to, the diverse needs of the LGBTQIA+ community.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic school (MD, DO, or equivalent degree).Experience: Successful completion of an accredited residency program; experience in community or ambulatory health is preferred.Licenses/Certifications:Unrestricted New Jersey Physician LicenseBoard Certification in Internal Medicine or Family MedicineActive CDS and DEA registrationValid NJ driver’s licensePrevious experience in HIV care, internal medicine, or infectious disease management.Strong understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of the LGBTQIA+ community.Experience in a community health center or similar healthcare setting.
