Part-time Research Scientist in Music Business
The Music and Social Change Lab is seeking a part-time research scientist in music business to support ongoing research. The Music and Social Change lab conducts research exploring the impact of songs and music-based interventions on public engagement, public policy and behavior change. Position summary: + Support Primary Investigator in the development and coding of a tool for content retrieval and analysis + Develop a system to collect publicly available online data, automatize a system to analyze the data and create a data repository of selected content. + Develop systems to test the accuracy and integrity of data collected + Develop and design interfaces for user engagement and dissemination of results + Develop a manual with instructions on how to use and maintain the tool The job duties for this position require onsite presence 60-80% of the time. In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly salary range for this position is $30 - $40. N ew York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer. Required Experience: A Masters Degree in Music Business with knowledge of Python programming software, implementation of AI tools, creation of algorithms, and deep knowledge of the music industry, specifically in the area of A&R and songwriting.
