Job Title: Production Sanitation Team Member
Location: Motown CPL, Livonia, MI

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Sanitation Team Member to
ensure our facility meets the highest food safety and sanitation standards. This overnight role is
responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in key areas of production, including food
contact surfaces, equipment, waste disposal, and employee hygiene stations. The ideal
candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and an understanding of sanitation
best practices in a food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Food Contact Surface & Equipment Sanitation
• Clean and sanitize food contact surfaces that are not in use, ensuring compliance with
sanitation procedures.
• Perform deep cleaning and detailing of equipment to remove residues and prevent
cross-contamination.
• Properly mix and apply cleaning and sanitizing agents according to safety protocols.
2. General Facility Sanitation
• Maintain and clean handwashing sinks to ensure proper hygiene compliance.
• Empty and manage trash throughout production and common areas to prevent
contamination risks.
• Sweep and clean floors using brooms, dustpans, and other tools to minimize debris
buildup.
• Ensure the proper operation and cleanliness of the rack washer.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in locker rooms to support hygiene protocols.
3. Equipment & Tool Cleaning/Sanitation
• Detail and deep clean production equipment to prevent microbial growth and product
contamination.
• Properly store and maintain sanitation tools such as brooms, mops, and cleaning
supplies.
• Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the sanitation
supervisor.
4. Compliance & Safety
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and sanitation standard operating
procedures (SSOPs).
• Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely, adhering to safety data sheet (SDS)
guidelines.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all workplace safety
protocols.
• Conduct pre-operational sanitation inspections to verify cleanliness before production
starts.
Qualifications & Skills
• Experience: Previous experience in sanitation, food production, or janitorial services
preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
• Knowledge:
o Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation principles.
o Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, and allergen control (preferred but not required).
o Safe handling and proper use of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
• Skills:
o Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict cleaning procedures.
o Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment.
o Good communication and teamwork skills.
o Basic mechanical aptitude for understanding equipment cleaning procedures.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
• Must be able to work in varying temperatures, wet, and humid environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals, high-pressure hoses, and varying temperatures.
• Must be comfortable working overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
